As the number of species in the site increases and time permits, I will add here regional
and/or seasonal lists of wildflowers.
This list includes some spring wildflowers found in eastern Canada, mainly in the temperate mixed forest zone, that goes from southern Ontario to Prince-Edward-Island. This is the transition zone between the boreal and the deciduous forests, a mosaic of broad-leaved trees and conifer woods. Many of these wildflowers blooms early in the spring before the trees get their leaves and keep the sunlight from reaching the ground. |
